US and Japan Current Relationship
US and Japan have a fairly good relationship; Americans and Japanese trust each other. Two-thirds of Americans trust Japan and three-fourths of Japanese share similar trust towards the US. Neither Americans nor Japanese trust China. 30% of Americans trust China a fair amount and 7% of Japanese trust Beijing only a fair amount. On April 28 at 9:30am, the US-Japan alliance stood up as the US occupation of Japan stood down. The Alliance is based on similar interests including preservation of political and economic freedoms, support for human rights and democratic institution, the expansion of prosperity for the people of both countries. In 2015, the US and Japan agreed on a new five-year package of hot nation support for US forces in Japan.
