Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack on the American Naval Base, in Honolulu, Hawaii, from Japanese soldiers. The attack came into 2 waves, one at 7:55 a.m and one at 8:40 a.m. When the first attack struck, soldiers were still in their pajamas eating breakfast. Once they succeeded with the first wave, one of the Japanese Commanders shouted "Tora! Tora! Tora!" which meant that they caught America as surprise.
The main target for the Japanese was American aircraft carriers, but all 3 of them were out at sea so the focused on the battleships. There were a total of 8 battleships at Pearl Harbor and 7 of them were lined up in a "Battleship Row." One of the boats, The Arizona, exploded when a bomb hit it. Around 1,100 U.S soldiers died because of that bomb. All 8 battleships were either sunk or damaged.

After War |
When the Japanese left at 9:45 a.m, The United States expected another wave to hit. On December 8, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared "a date that will live in infamy." America declared war on Japan also on December 8th. This attack lead to the United States to enter World War II. Throughout the streets of America, people shouted "Remember Pearl Harbor!"
